  2. Pg 56: "How I did enjoy shooting! But I think that I must have been half cosciously ashamed of my zeal, for I tried to persuade myself that shooting was almost an intellectual employment: it required so much skill to judge where to find most game and to hunt the dogs well."

In what ways do we justify our pleasures?
How do we distinguish pleasure from passion?

  3. Grace: 'But when in doubt I prayed earnestly to God to help me.'
How do we lose sight of God until we really need Him?
Isaiah: 'I must have been a very simple little fellow when I first went to the school.'
How can 'simple little fellows' become great?
Gracious: 'I had, as a very young boy, a strong taste for long solitary walks.'
Do you think that by taking solitary time out of our day will make us smarter?
