There will never be a really free and enlightened State until the State comes to recognize the individual as a higher and independent power, from which all its own power and authority are derived, and treats him accordingly. How do we get them to recognize the power and importance of the individual?
"That government is best which governs least." What exactly is the point where a corrupt government steps over the bounds? At what point do you think this happened in American History?
"I ask for, not at once no government, but at once a better government. Let every man make known what kind of government would command his respect, and that will be one step toward obtaining it."
Though this question is odd, I would still very much like to have it answered. Here it is: If a person somehow managed to have every person in the USA exposed to the constitution, but that it was done through illegal purposes (For example, if someone hacked into every television during a time where there would be millions of people watching TV, and a message came up of a person reading the constitution, Then explained what the country has done that was wrong.) Would this be viewed as terrorism? What do you think would be the peoples reaction? Would people continue to ignore the constitution, or would they rise up and make the government change there way of governing?
"He that gives himself entirely to his fellow men appears to them useless and selfish; but he who fives himself partially to them is pronounced benefactor and philanthropist" *Is this a true statement?
One of my favorite quotes was: "A wise man will not leave the right to the mercy of chance." In what ways can we accomplish that today? How can we go and Do something about the injustice we see, and not just sit around hoping it will go away?
