  1. Okay.
Why can someone be so open to nature as well so closed to humanity as Thoreau was? Is it possible to be open (or closed) to both nature and humanity? How does one come to that state of being?

  3. Is the connection to nature natural? Do we naturally connect to nature, or does it happen throughout this life? My baby sister (Zion) just LOVES being outside, all the time! And then, I always think it's way too freezing to even walk out to the car. :P

Also... what makes a person have the desire to live simply?

  4. Is a minimalist lifestyle the best way to live?
Is "strong common sense" a gift of the spirit?
Do you think seclusion in the mountains would cause you to have rough mannerisms to humankind?

  5. He said "He had no temptations to fight against- no appetites, no passions, not taste for elegant trifles." Is that possible? If so how can we get to that point?

How and where did he find all this knowledge, how did he find he find the interest to study all of it? How can I fond that?
